about the league

Incorporated by an act of Congress in 1937, the Marine Corps League perpetuates the traditions and spirit of all Marines who proudly wear or who have worn the eagle, globe, and anchor of the Marine Corps. The Marine Corps League is the only federally chartered United States Marine Corps-related veterans organization in the United States. Its Federal Charter was approved by the 75th U.S. Congress and signed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on August 4, 1937. The Marine Corps League credits its founding - in 1923 - to legendary Marine Corps Commandant John A. Lejeune.

OUR MISSION

Marine Corps League members join together in camaraderie and fellowship for the purpose of preserving the traditions and promoting the interests of the United States Marine Corps. We band together those who are now serving in the United States Marine Corps and those who have been honorably discharged from that service; voluntarily aiding and rendering assistance to all Marines and former Marines and to their widows and orphans, and by perpetuating the history of the United States Marine Corps, locally, state wide, and nationally.

Purpose of this page

This detachment donation page will serve two purposes. The first is to provide the people that want to support our detachment a safe place to donate funds. Detachment 296 is a completely volunteer run organization. 100% of the monies donated to the detachment go back out to support Veteran causes and in support of our local community. Donations of any size are greatly appreciated. By clicking the link below donations can be made to our detachment PayPal account. For use of their services PayPal charges a fee on every transaction.

This brings us to the second purpose of this page, and that is to give our members another way to pay their annual dues. Due to the fact that our detachment only gets a very small amount from the dues paid we ask that if a member is going to pay their dues using this page that you pay the PayPal charges as well. This would make the cost of annual dues renewal at $28.31. When you get to the page where you enter your payment information there is a (+ Write a note) segment. Please enter you are paying your dues renewal.

Thank you

On behalf of the members of Lehigh Valley MCL Detachment 296, I would like to personally thank you for your support. All of the members, including our detachment officers, volunteer their and their family’s time to help our Veterans and our local community. No one receives any type of monetary compensation for their efforts. Your choice to donate to our detachment is a way for you to show your support to our cause. - Commandant William “Bill” Stoudt
